Goal: The primary goal of the course is acquiring basic knowledge in this field and students are trained for the successful application of computers in their further education and future professional activities.
Outcome: The course allows students to become skilled for independent processing of numerical and graphical assignments in geodesy, presentation of these data in various formats and media.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
  1. Using modern programs for mathematical calculations in the form of tables. Training students through using programs for spreadsheets used in construction practice (EXCEL).
  2. Using modern word processing programs. Training students by using word processing programs withmanifold implementation.
  3. Computer graphics. Modern technology of electronic computer-aided drawing. Concretization through its application to the formation and creation of two-dimensional technical drawings. Changes to the existing electronic drawings. Supplements to the existing drawings. Intensive practical training of students through using specific software for computer-aided drawings (CAD - Computer Aided Design), which are used in construction practices as well as software intended primarily for vector graphics (CorelDRAW).
  4. Use of computer peripheral devices: printers, plotters, digitizers, scanners, digital cameras.
Practical instruction (Problem solving sessions/Lab work/Practical training):
  1. Content of theoretical instruction transferred into practical application through exercises and practical exercises in teaching bases.
